Larger-than-life projecton

It felt so good to finally perform again (after my long involuntary break). My beloved pastels in action, locked into audiovisual dialogue with the brilliant improvised sounds of Sue Lynch’s saxophone, together with Polish Jacek Buhl on drums and Canadian Jack Campbell on prepared violin. With RichMix’s larger-than-life projection the audience could witness the tiniest moves of my fingers, immersed, as the the art unfolded in real time.

Rhythmic staccato marks and swooshing shapes

For a true audiovisual experience, the sound of my pastels hitting the paper or gliding over its surface, was clearly amplified. Rhythmic staccato marks and swooshing shapes formed integral part of our improvised soundscape. I even opened the concert with the sound of my beloved luminous pastels! A gentle light blue then a scratchy electric blue for the musicians to jump in… Such pleasure.

It was such joy to part of this original ACE-funded festival, the only one dedicated to audiovisual art as a standalone artform in the UK, curated by visionary Cheslav Singh.
